Little White Salmon National Fish Hatchery
Little White Salmon National Fish Hatchery has been helping restore Columbia River salmon populations for more than a century. Founded in 1898, it is one of the oldest salmon hatcheries in the Pacific Northwest and has played an important role in salmon propagation, fisheries restoration, and Tribal trust responsibilities.
Today, Little White Salmon raises millions of Chinook salmon each year, producing approximately 5.5 million young spring and upriver bright fall Chinook salmon for release or transfer to partner facilities. The hatchery also collects millions of salmon eggs annually to support other salmon restoration programs throughout the Columbia River Basin.
