Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery
Located along the Lower Colorado River in the Black Canyon below Hoover Dam, Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery has been serving anglers and conserving native fish since 1959. Built to take advantage of the cold water released from Hoover Dam, the hatchery originally focused on rainbow trout production and has since become a key conservation facility for endangered fish in the Colorado River Basin.
Today, Willow Beach raises rainbow trout for recreational fishing while also helping recover the endangered razorback sucker and bonytail chub. Visitors can explore the hatchery, take guided or self-guided tours, observe fish at various life stages, and enjoy birdwatching, photography, and nearby recreation within Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
